![]() ![]() I like living in a world defined by cinema industry standards even though I’m a one man band and producing for the internet. It takes a while to retrain the muscle memory in the sense that things do behave differently. With most things, we usually don’t like change. If you are not using log adjustments, you do have to be very careful with many changes being very slight nudges with log, you can be more aggressive in the changes to get what you want or easier to nudge things along with smaller alterations. Some folks do suggest ACEScc but I personally prefer ACEScct. I’m not sure if this is the way you tried, but start ACEScct with a new Project and work with the log setting from the Colour dropdown menu at the right of the primaries area. So there is more to it than simply turning on the appropriate project settings. That’s where I’m at today and I get the results I want usually with little effort. By the time ACEScct version 1.03 was available (with Resolve 14 last year), I also switched to using Colour log adjustments of primaries. But I found Colour adjustments quite awkward as someone mentioned in an earlier post. The first hint of success occurred when I began a new project where things started to look reasonable. Primaries on that project would have been the conventional Colour wheels. Matt, when I first tried ACEScc version 1.02, on an existing graded project, it looked awful. ![]() I'll be on shoots for the next two days so I can't produce samples, but I was wondering if this is how both color science options normally behave or make I'm using the wrong setting or an error on my part. ![]() I found that the skin tones are much more natural and pleasing, and produced much more range in the dark areas but not as much saturation or range in highlights I also tried doing some tests on the same shots whole using the above YRGB Color Management options. However I wasn't happy with how the Skin Tones looked (Didn't look natural or pleasing) I Found that doing some quick grading tests with ACES seemed to produce more Dynamic range in the Highlights but lacked details in the blacks when doing some initial grading with the Raw Controls. Input Color Space: Bypass Gamma: (Greyed Out) Blackmagic 4.6K Film I tried using ACES and switching the Color management to the following settings:Ĭolor Science: DaVinci YRGB Color Managed ![]()
